Argus keeps delivering.
"Six Feet Deep" is the latest single from the upcoming collaborative album between Lakmann and Morlockko Plus, following "Soulmusik" and "Kein Palaver." Three singles in and the project has not wavered once from the aesthetic it announced on the first drop. That kind of consistency is a statement in itself.
The title lands exactly where you would expect from these two. Six Feet Deep. No ambiguity, no softening, no concession to anything outside the lane they have staked out. Lakmann writes, Morlockko Plus builds the beat. The division of labor on Argus is clean and it shows across every single they have released so far.
For anyone just arriving to this project: Lakmann has been one of the most credible voices in German underground hip-hop since Creutzfeld & Jakob in 2000, with a catalog built entirely on craft and consistency. Morlockko Plus is the production alias of Morlockk Dilemma, the Leipzig MC whose vocabulary and beat selection have consistently set the standard for what serious German rap sounds like. Together they make music that has no interest in anything other than being exactly what it is.
