Some collabs you see coming from a mile away. Others happen because somebody missed a phone call.
That's literally how this one came together. Jay Worthy was putting together his debut solo album Once Upon A Time and had Method Man on the shortlist — but when Meth called, Jay wasn't around to pick up. The track never made the album. Most people would chalk it up as a missed opportunity and move on. Jay Worthy isn't most people. He fixed his mistake, got Meth back on the line, and the result is "Visions" — now the lead single off the Once Upon A Time documentary soundtrack.
And honestly? Worth the wait.
Producer Vada laces this thing with a flute sample that feels like it's floating somewhere between a late-night drive and a half-remembered dream. Slim, elegant, and deceptively simple — the beat doesn't demand your attention, it earns it. It gives both MCs exactly the kind of space they need to breathe and that's a rare thing.
Method Man comes in like he never left. Tight rhyme schemes, that unmistakable charisma, intricate without showing off — Meth just sounds comfortable in a way that a lot of veterans struggle to pull off in 2026. When he's locked in on a beat that fits him right, there's still nobody that sounds quite like him. Jay Worthy on the other hand rides the track with that laid-back West Coast energy he's been perfecting for years through LNDN DRGS and his run of collaborations with the likes of Harry Fraud, Roc Marciano, and Evidence. His delivery is more aloof, more cool — but it holds weight. The contrast between the two works better than you'd expect from a pairing that could have felt random on paper.
This is fundamentally a record about craft. No gimmicks, no features stacking up to cover weak bars, no production trying to save a mediocre performance. Just two guys who know exactly who they are, doing what they do over something that sounds great. That's increasingly hard to find.
The official video keeps things in the same spirit — cinematic and understated, letting the music do the heavy lifting.
Hit play. You'll be glad Jay Worthy picked up the phone.
