Ten years in and Orange Season still hits the same way it did when it dropped.
Larry June and Cookin Soul are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their collaborative album with a proper reissue — and "The P Vitamin C" gets the official video treatment to mark the occasion. The timing is right. The record aged well, and the audience that appreciates this kind of music has only grown.
If you don't know Orange Season yet, this is your entry point. Larry June's whole aesthetic — the smooth West Coast delivery, the fresh living, the organic references wrapped in luxury — was already fully formed here. No gimmicks, no trends. Just a MC who knew exactly what he was doing and a production duo that built exactly the right world around him.
Cookin Soul brought the soulful, laid-back backdrop that made the album work. The Spanish duo has been one of the most consistent forces in underground and mid-tier rap production for years — collaborative projects with Action Bronson, Curren$y, a catalog that speaks for itself. On Orange Season they and Larry June found a natural frequency and stayed on it for the whole runtime.
"The P Vitamin C" is a good reminder of why this record earned its anniversary treatment.
The vinyl reissue is out now via Cookin Soul Records and RRC Music Co. — multiple variants, most already sold out. Orange w/ OBI, Black, CD and Cassette are still available.
Order: rrcmusic.co — €60
