Sido is back and he brought the mask with him. A new one.
"ISSA" is the first single off the upcoming album Frieden, and in the video Sido debuts the latest version of his mask — the iconic form that has burned itself into the collective consciousness of this country over two decades. The crossroads of skull and microphone that a whole generation grew up with and eventually came of age alongside. What is new: the mask is completely transparent. No more hiding, no more disguise. Only transparency and an open visor from someone who is at peace with himself.
The track, produced by Sido alongside Yanek Stärk, mixed by DJ Desue and mastered by Nils Faller, hit number one on the iTunes Single Charts immediately after release and reached over one million YouTube views since Thursday evening. Sidos son Bo appears in the video and delivers the final rap verse on the track — the twelve-year-old's first public appearance on a release. That is not a stunt. It is a family moment that fits the reflective tone of the song.
"ISSA" is the last song on the album, released first. It looks at Sido's life from a present-day perspective — roots, success, the people close to him. A Sido who has arrived somewhere and wants his people to know it.
Frieden drops November 27, 2026 via Urban/Universal. The album's title track "Frieden" features Xavier Naidoo, with Menowin Fröhlich also announced as a guest. Not the deepest widontplay corner, but Sido is where Deutschrap started for an entire generation and "ISSA" is a genuine statement track.
