Spice 1, Jay Worthy & Bun B – Jive 95 | Official Video

 

The track has been out since October 2025. Now it gets the visual it deserves.

"Jive 95" is produced by NVRHRDXF and appears on Jay Worthy's Once Upon A Time album, the project that preceded Once Upon A Time: The Soundtrack which we covered earlier this year. The official video just dropped and brings together three artists from three different corners of the map — Bay Area, Vancouver by way of Compton, and Port Arthur, Texas — onto one record that sounds like all three places at once.

Spice 1 is Bay Area royalty. Active since the early 90s, his debut album 187 He Wrote dropped in 1993 and established him as one of the foundational voices of West Coast gangsta rap. Where artists from Los Angeles dominated mainstream attention, Spice 1 held down the Bay with consistency and credibility across decades. His presence on "Jive 95" is a reminder that his lane never closed.

Bun B is one half of UGK alongside the late Pimp C, and one of the most respected figures in Southern hip-hop history. Port Arthur, Texas. Super Tight, Ridin Dirty, International Players Anthem with Outkast. His verse on any record changes the weight of it and "Jive 95" is no exception. The pairing with Spice 1 connects Bay Area and Houston in a way that feels entirely natural given how much both scenes share in terms of slow tempos, street storytelling and unwillingness to compromise.

Jay Worthy holds it together as the connector. Vancouver born, Los Angeles built, GDF Records independent. His whole catalog is built on exactly this kind of coast-crossing collaboration done with taste. The title says it all. 1995 as a reference point, jive as a frame. That era, that frequency.
