The hardest-working man in Deutschrap is back, and this one goes straight to the roots.

"Cliquehänger" is Dendemann's second single within a few weeks, following "Wiederstand," and it is the more classic of the two. Released September 11, 2026 via Paroli Beats, produced, written and performed by Dendemann himself, the track is a piece of pure boom bap nostalgia. He raps about hanging with the crew in the cul-de-sac, everyone knowing everyone, back when it is 1992 and the city is called Menden. That specificity is the whole appeal. Dendemann does not deal in vague nostalgia. He gives you the year, the place, the exact feeling.

Daniel Ebel, better known as Dendemann, is one of the most respected lyricists in German rap history. Known for his rough voice and dense, wordplay-heavy writing, he came up with Eins, Zwo in the late 90s before establishing himself as a solo force. His albums Die Pfütze des Eisbergs and Vom Vintage verweht set a technical standard that few German MCs have matched. At 52, he still hits every beat. His current "DOCH!" club tour strips everything back to the essentials: no band, no support, no autotune, just the rhyme. Eleven shows, two hours each, the focus entirely on craft.

There is talk of a possible new album, or at least a mixtape, following these singles. For an artist whose last full-length da nich für! dropped in 2019, that would be an event. "Cliquehänger" and "Wiederstand" arriving within weeks of each other suggest something bigger is coming. His stated position is worth noting too: the right answer to dark times is not escapism, but attitude. Haltung. That has always been Dendemann's lane, delivered through wordplay and rhyme acrobatics rather than slogans.
