"Fallen" is a collaboration between MC Jimmie D and Montreal producer Nicholas Craven, written as a tribute to KA. Jimmie D explained the intent directly: with the sudden news of KA's passing, he felt it was only right to honor one of the artists who inspired the whole grown man rap renaissance. He had written the track months earlier but the moment made it clear where it belonged. Now it gets an official video.

The reference point matters. KA, the Brownsville MC and firefighter who built one of the most singular catalogs in underground rap before his death in 2024, was a north star for exactly the kind of stripped-back, introspective, drumless-adjacent rap that Nicholas Craven has spent his career perfecting. Metal Clergy, Descendants of Cain, Languish Arts, Woeful Studies — KA's work proved there was an audience for rap that operated like meditation, dense and quiet and heavy. "Fallen" honors that without imitating it.

Nicholas Craven is one of the most respected producers in the current underground. Soulful, grimy beats out of Montreal since 2006, with a catalog that runs through collaborations with Boldy James, Mavi, Rome Streetz, Che Noir and more. His production on "Fallen" is exactly what the tribute requires: warm, dusty, unhurried, giving Jimmie D the space to say what needs to be said. No drums crowding the frame, no unnecessary movement. Just the loop and the words.

At just over two minutes, "Fallen" does not overstay. It makes its statement and steps back, which is the most KA thing a tribute could do.
