Westside Gunn – ZILLA (prod. Denny LaFlare, Heelmatic)

Westside Gunn ZILLA official video still, riding a camel at the pyramids, first single from Heelmatic

Westside Gunn has a new album coming. Heelmatic drops on November 13, 2026 via Griselda and Mass Appeal, and "ZILLA" is the first single. Denny LaFlare produced it. The video, directed by Daily Gems, shows Gunn riding a camel to the pyramids in Egypt.

From Instagram to Album Single

The video first premiered on Gunn's Instagram on August 26. Back then the song was expected to lead into FLYGOD Is an Awesome God 3, which Gunn had announced as his final solo album. Plans changed. On October 22 he announced Heelmatic, explained on X that Mass Appeal's Legend series inspired a completely new project, and released "ZILLA" on all streaming platforms.

According to Gunn, he recorded the album in secret at locations including the Eiffel Tower, the Acropolis in Athens, the Saucony offices, Chicago and Berlin.

Heelmatic

The label promises a fresh production style that keeps Gunn's core sound intact. It is his first release with Mass Appeal and follows the Heels Have Eyes run from 2025, an EP and two albums. The title fits Gunn perfectly: a wrestling heel turn meets a classic Queens album title.

Denny LaFlare Again

Denny LaFlare has been one of Gunn's most reliable producers for years. "ZILLA" sticks to what works between them: a loop that keeps stumbling forward, heavy drums, and Gunn's ad-libs all over it. For me, that pairing is still one of the sharpest sounds in the Griselda world.
