Cold Window | Sean P x Benny the Butcher Type Beat | 87 BPM Boom Bap

Cold Window beat cover: view through a frosted window onto an empty snowy basketball court at night

Cold Window is an 87 BPM boom bap beat built on heavy bass and cold, ringing bells, with loose, layered percussion underneath. Dark East Coast mood, made for winter verses.

The bass carries the weight here. The bells hang over it like frost on glass, and the percussion keeps the groove moving underneath. I pictured an empty court in January, seen from a window several floors up. That picture gave the beat its name.

Why 87 BPM Works for Boom Bap

87 BPM sits right in the pocket where Griselda and Boot Camp verses live. Slow enough to lean back into, with enough push to keep the head nodding. The low end does the heavy lifting, so the midrange stays open for vocals. The bells work as a built-in hook element and make the beat easy to arrange around.

Influence and Production Notes

The mood draws on the bare, loop-driven sound of early Griselda records and the raw Brooklyn grit Sean P brought to every verse. Both serve as atmosphere here, the bells, bass and drums are my own. I kept the percussion loose and layered so the groove breathes against the steady bass.
